I've always had a green thumb and this year I've put it to the test! I've grown everything from Cardinal climber to caladiums! I'm the proudest of my caladiums! I bought a few plants already started from the store and also got some bulbs ! The dark red ones out front in a pot of there own are caladium buck. They are some of the bulbs I got. I'd say "wow they turned out lovely"!
The second pot in front are ones I got from the store. they got cold on the shelf in early spring and all the leaves withered at first but it's coming back nicely now! They are lasting love caladium and Florida Elise caladium.
The big pot in the back is a mix of bulbs and started plants. some of the names are caladium candidum, pink passion caladium, blush caladium, white queen caladium, miss muffet caladium and a few more I don't have the names to. under all the caladiums is a Hosta to fill it in but now I think it probably didn't need it. It filled in real nice with just the caladiums!
I've had a lot of rain this year so I haven't had to water them much but I keep the dirt moist when there is no rain. but not to moist! To much water will rot the stems of the leaves at the base. then you'll lose your beautiful leaves. They don't like to much sun but they don't like a lot of shade either! I've found a spot on my porch that gets full sun for about two hours starting at 10:30. Any time before or after that it's shaded by trees!
Well that's my experience with this beautiful plant! It is now my favorite thing out of all my plants!
I'm going to take some more pictures of my garden to share with everyone I think I'll share my success with my dahlias next!
